USS Salem CA-139 is the second ship of the Des Moines-class heavy cruiser in the US Navy heavy cruiser.
Started construction in July 1945, named and launched in March 1947, and entered service in May 1949.
After being retired in January 1959 without experiencing any actual battle, and after being mothballed, it has been a museum ship in Quincy, Massachusetts since October 1994.
