Detailed 1/100 scale assembly model kit of the BAC Lightning, a Cold War era single-seat, twin-engine supersonic jet fighter aircraft developed by English Electric (EE)/British Aircraft Corporation (BAC) for use by the Royal Air Force (RAF) in the 1950’s. The Lightning was a high-performance fighter aircraft that lived up to its namesake, and it is the first aircraft capable of supercruise (sustained supersonic flight of an aircraft with a useful cargo, passenger, or weapons load performed efficiently and without the use of afterburners). Some 337 BAC Lightning fighters were manufactured, and the type was used by the RAF, Kuwait Air Force, and Royal Saudi Air Force.
