It once embodied the first cab-over tractor unit that Mercedes-Benz dedicated to forestry transport tasks. Until the release of the first Pullman generation, the bonnet truck bearing the star above its radiator grille was the vehicle of choice for hauling timber. The drivers of the first cab-over generation engineered by Mercedes-Benz were particularly fond of the precise steering and the improved manoeuvrability the tractor-trailer timber truck, usually sporting extra length, had to offer. Now, the strikingly compact tractor unit with its large cabin hauls the tree trunks to their destination.
