Description

This Minitrix N Scale 4-8-8-4 Big Boy from Trix is based on the famous hugesteam locomotives used on Union Pacific from the 1940s into the early1960s. This detailed model features a coal tender as used in service and isdecorated for its 1950’s appearance. The locomotive has a DCC digitaldecoder and extensive sound functions. It also has controlledhigh-efficiency propulsion and eight powered Boxpok drivers. Other featuresinclude traction tires, a smoke unit and directional headlights whichoperate in both analog and DCC operation. Cab lighting can be controlleddigitally. Maintenance-free, warm white LEDs are used for the lighting. Thelocomotive has articulated running gear to allow operation on smallercurves. This locomotive can be used on curved track with a minimum radiusof 10-5/16″ 261.8 mm, but larger radius curves are recommended. Due to theoverhang of the long boiler, signals, catenary masts, bridge railings,tunnel portals, etc. must be mounted to provide sufficient clearance oncurves. This model comes equipped with a Rapido-style coupler on the rearof the tender. The track must be well mounted for the high weight of thelocomotive.
