Description
Most commonly associated with the auto industry, these 60′ boxcars hauled components like hoods, fenders and other stampings on specialized racks for efficient loading and unloading between component mills and final assembly lines. Common from the late 1960s to the early 2000s, these cars commonly operated in pools and wandered far from their home rails.
